Reforestation
Afforestation and reforestation measures are important investments that feature prominently under cohesion policy, such as:
protecting and preserving nature and biodiversity;
managing and restoring Natura 2000 sites and other biodiversity hotspots;
developing green spaces (e.g. parks, public gardens, green roofs, coastlines, urban forests and meadows, trees and hedges).
interconnections between green spaces (e.g. green corridors).
ecosystem restoration projects.
nature-based solutions for climate change adaptation and disaster-risk reduction.
green infrastructure with multiple benefits (climate, water, air and risk management).

Our mission
“ALL FOR ALL FOR A BETTER WORLD”
Our mission is to tackle the difficult situations that disadvantaged people in different communities are confronting.
- We take social actions oriented to achieve concrete results such as alleviate hunger, offer people access to essential goods and services on sustainable bases.
- We know that it takes audacity and courage to fight poverty and inequity but we are determined and committed to excellence to pursuit our goal to see a world in which equality, dignity and social cohesion can be achieved.
On going Programs
Our programs are based on real problems afflicting most vulnerable groups in our community and beyond.
We aim by implementing our projects to tackle the problems of poverty and social inequity faced by a great number of disadvantaged people.
Our projects are designed based on the radical idea of bringing hope, equity and human dignity in a challenging world by changing the way poverty is tackled.
Currently, we are present implementing different programs with positive impact and sustainability in Greece, Belgrade, Jordan and Zambia.
Our aim with this project is to alleviate hunger and poverty by being the missing link between people in need and the tons of nutritious food thrown away every day by the food industry.
By capturing all usable products that would otherwise end up as waste we immediately achieve a positive impact:
- On the environment by promoting recycling habits and reinforcing the importance of keeping our environment clean.
- On the economic development of the community by rescuing farmers’ produce we support agriculture in a broad sense, farming, and fishing.
- Local Economy Growth by creating New Jobs with a positive impact on the unemployment rate.
- Social wellbeing, by Getting People Involved: Being a VOLUNTEER increases your sense of belonging and social inclusion. Creates the foundations for healthy behaviors, enhances your relationships with others, gives you emotional literacy to accept and manage conflict without manipulation or coercion.

Natumies
WE LOVE NATURE
The existence of nature is the proof of our own existence and everybody appreciates the existence of water, forest, animals, songbird, flora, and fauna, but unfortunately, these can be misused and end up being harmed. The environment is polluted by various things such as radioactive elements, plastics, sewage, domestic waste and industrial pollution.
Nobody is a perfect environmentalist, however, together we can take some honest steps to reduce the number of resources consumed and waste that is generated.
Takis Shelter
Set up over seven years ago, and with the sole purpose of rescuing the stray, abandoned animals of Crete, Takis Shelter currently cares for over 400 dogs and cats.
Based in Ierapetra, in the south of Crete, the rescued dogs and cats have up to 33,000 square meters of private, enclosed olive groves to run around in.
With very few people willing to help, there are still an overwhelming number of stray cats and dogs in the south that need rescuing. In the past, dogs have been left tied-up, often with their puppies in a box, outside of the shelter.
Over 350 of the shelter’s cats and dogs have been neutered with only a remaining few left, due to their age or health.
This shelter receives no help from the authorities and relies solely on donations.
Since 2014, Takis Shelter has re-homed over 600 animals. Yet, there are hundreds of dogs and cats still looking for their Forever Homes, so please visit the Adoption page to find your best friend.
"As long as man continues to be the ruthless destroyer of other living beings, he will never know health or peace. For as long as men massacre animals, they will kill each other. " (Pythagoras – Greek philosopher)
"Όσο ο άνθρωπος θα συνεχίσει να είναι ο άσπλαχνος καταστροφέας άλλων όντων, δεν θα γνωρίσει ποτέ υγεία ή ειρήνη. Γιατί όσο οι άνθρωποι κατασφάζουν τα ζώα, θα σκοτώνουν ο ένας τον άλλο." (Πυθαγόρας)
Our aspiration and goal is to pave the path into an era in which no animal will suffer at the hands of humans and those that do, will be fiercely protected by future generations.
I want to raise awareness of an amazing non profit here in Greece that is doing great work in protecting and taking care of the wild animals. ANIMA's main objective is the treatment, rehabilitation and return of wildlife to their natural environment. ANIMA annually treats and rehabilitates over 5.000 birds, mammals and reptiles, among which are many rare and endangered species. Given that there is no state agency in Greece dealing with this field, ANIMA, in collaboration with other wildlife rehabilitation organizations, comes to meet a basic need for the protection and conservation of wildlife in the country. ANIMA relies on donations to continue their work. You can help them by donating. Let's all help and protect wildlife. Even the smallest donation counts.

Non-profit organizations were also formed to reduce the population of stray cats in considerable ways. For example, Nine Lives (founded in 2006) is an organization that aims to improve the quality of stray cats through providing shelters, medical care, and food for the cats. To ensure a healthier cat population, they have also neutered 1700 cats in 2019 alone. They rely on a network of volunteers that help feed and transport stray cats to veterinarians and help with fundraising activities (Nine Lives Greece).
The Philippine Animal Welfare Society | PAWS | Animal Welfare NGO
We are a volunteer-based organization.
Our main work is to educate and disseminate information concerning animal welfare, animal care, animal control, and other animal-related concerns.
PAWS campaigns actively against animal cruelty and pet neglect, including activities like dogfights, horsefights, and wild animals being used for entertainment.
PAWS also runs an animal shelter called PARC (PAWS Animal Rehabilitation Center). It currently houses over 300 cats and dogs rescued from cruelty or neglect. Here, these animals are rehabilitated in the hope of finding them new homes and a second chance at a good life.
There is also a low-cost clinic that provides veterinary services to the indigent community, including spay and neuter (kapon).
